Off-grid living.
Full-time, fully off-grid caravan living since July 2026, moving between locations while remaining in remote employment.
A working life shaped by traditional trades, enterprise and leadership. Years of practical experience now meet full-time off-grid living, independent thinking and a determination to build something that lasts.
The Sanctuary Project begins with an unwavering belief in personal responsibility, British cultural continuity and the freedoms secured through the sacrifices of earlier generations. Its founder believes strongly in preserving the values for which Britain's forebears fought and died, together with its Christian heritage, craftsmanship, history and sense of duty. He is concerned that too much of this inheritance is being overlooked. His response is not simply to lament change, but to build something that can carry those traditions forward.
He began his working life after leaving school in carpentry and joinery. Rather than remain within a single trade or follow a predictable career path, he went on to gain practical experience in electrical work, plumbing, property maintenance and general repairs. Working across different disciplines developed a habit of learning quickly, solving problems directly and finding workable solutions with the resources available.
His career has extended well beyond the tools and the workshop. Over the years he has run a number of his own businesses and worked in professional roles including virtual training and learning and development management. These experiences brought together enterprise, communication, teaching, leadership and the ability to adapt when circumstances change. He has never felt compelled to follow a conventional nine-to-five route simply because it is expected.
That independent mindset also drives a deep interest in critical thinking. He believes in questioning assumptions, looking beyond first impressions and judging claims by evidence rather than accepting them at face value. He studies artificial intelligence, engineering and technological change closely, convinced that the future will reward those who understand new tools while retaining the human skills to function without them.
In July 2026, he made a decisive change and began living full time in a touring caravan, completely off-grid. Since then, he has moved between locations in the UK while maintaining paid remote employment to cover everyday living costs, sustain his independence and begin saving and preparing for The Sanctuary Project. Solar generation, lithium battery storage, heating, water, communications, equipment maintenance and the practical realities of mobile living are now part of his daily life.
Personal upheaval, both during childhood and later in life, has also shaped his outlook. Through those experiences he has come to believe that real strength starts with self-responsibility. The more capable, grounded and resilient we become, the better equipped we are to support the people we love, stand by those who are vulnerable and preserve a way of life worth passing on.
The Sanctuary Project brings those convictions together. It is an ambition to build a real place where heritage is lived, practical independence is tested, new technology is understood and capable people can learn and grow together. The intention is to begin modestly, build on experience and create something of lasting value.
